Concentration Draft

Concentration draft
This is highly experimental now, the idea is like everywhere and shifting i don't even know how to begin, so bear with it.

For my concentration, it started with the idea of the juxtaposition of the paper. Through the shift of paper, i could create a sense of alternate reality. For example in the first piece, the girl's position could be interpret as either rising up the body (slowly levitating) or either she is slowly falling down. One one paper, she might be rising, but on another paper which is the other reality she is actually falling down. I begin with this altered composition idea and using just one action.
As i continue on and explore this idea, i decided to look at it in a even bigger scale instead of just of in one action. I decided to stretch it from one action to various scenarios. For example a altered reality of the possible of lives of a person. In this universe, which is on one paper could be a successful business man. While on the other paper he is actually a unsuccessful homeless on the streets. With this piece, instead of using two paper i decided to just use 1 piece of paper while cutting the figure off as well. Although the concept is shifted, but it is still the fundamental concept of split alternative universe.

Silvia Ji La Catrina

Silvia Jii La Catrina
A fantastic artist with a distinct style with allher painting. The women with a skull looking tattoo on her face have become almost her personal symbol. It's incredible for me how she could create so many paintings just based on the same idea over and over again. However everytime she painted a new painting it looks distinct and with a new sense of feeling to it. Another thing is just i basically love the way she mingles the color and the women/symbol. I love her paintings both with the colors and the hauntingly beautiful women with a skull tattoo on her face.

Colasa

He is (emphasize on the is) the msot influential artist to my style and who inspired me. I is also one of the first artist that i interviewed for m friend's blog. He also propelled me into the ink madness and the quick brushy strokes that i have now. He is what i strife to be, and become even better although that is very hard. Colasa has a mix of styles with stencil painting and quick paintings that ranges from precise beauty to explosive expressive paintings. His use of black and white symbolizes the black and white of society, he believes that there is no need for other colors because he wants to use the image and lines that  he created to substitute the colors that he is not applying. His blends of stencil and painting is magnificent, i have tried numerous way to achieve his style with no success. It's perfectly blended and creates the smoky effect  have longed for for so long. He told me to do that i have to use a special paint, construction paint to blend things and create the rich material. I really want to try his but i have to find a way to get the material first. Anyway, this is my most influential artist and his works are the final stage i hope i can accomplish when i am done with college.
